ManGlaze Fatty's Got More Blood with Top Coat

I made it pretty long this time with the matte. Almost the whole day. Just before bed though I ended up putting on top coat so I could do my usual lotion and cuticle cream.

This looks really pretty with top coat. If it were just a regular polish I'd probably be happy wearing it and love it. To be honest, though, I think it's better matte. When I first put the top coat on I was all "ooh so pretty" and then after an hour or two I totally changed my mind. So this one is matte for now on till I take it off. That is all :)

ManGlaze Fatty's Got More Blood

I have a matte from ManGlaze. This company has some superb matte polishes. When I got this one they were doing a remodel on their website so I bought this on their Facebook page and they had a 10% discount. I just checked and they're still selling on the FB page with the discount because they're still doing their remodel. It's worth clicking on their website though just to take the quick test they have you take to enter their site. I should warn you though this is not for everyone. They're very much an over 18 company, if the name alone didn't clue you in on that ;) So be warned, they're not for the timid lacquerhead :)
Let's get to some pictures then I'll talk about my NOTD

ManGlaze Fatty's Got More Blood is a (shocker) blood red matte. ManGlaze only makes mattes. And they're all awesome. I have 4 of them so far. I love the matte look but it's a limited love. I can make it most of a day but I always end up putting top coat over it. You're not supposed to use hand lotion while wearing a matte or suede, and I just can't do it. I have to put my lotion on a couple-three times a day. Especially when I am doing any cleaning. I slather my hands up with hand creme then put on cotton gloves and then my rubber gloves. This does a few things. #1 It protects my nails. My mani takes no damage no matter if I'm scrubbing pots n pans, or cleaning the tub. #2 It acts as a sort of sauna or hot oil treatment type thing. Your hands are in hot water and while the water isn't touching your hands the heat will penetrate the gloves and open your pores which allows the hand creme to absorb into your skin, cuticles and nails. Winning! And #3 I love to use super hot water when cleaning. The gloves allow me to use straight hot water and kill all the germies while my hands are comfy and protected. So, wow. That train got totally de-railed. I didn't really plan to talk about all that lol. Anyway, FGMB is a deep red matte, with silver sparklies. You can see them best in my natural light picture. It's really just a smooth sexy color. I adore it. You should see it with top coat ;)

Color Club Electro Candy

If you're just waking up, wait to read this post till you've had your coffee. It's a bright one  :)

My notd today is Color Club Electro Candy from the Electric Candy Collection released summer 2009. I actually got this as a set from Ross a few weeks ago and strangely enough it's the entire collection unlike what you normally get in these sets. I was pretty pleased.
Electro Candy is a very bright neon pink with a really pretty teal blue shimmer. The set comes with a Vivid Color Intensifying top coat that seems to be a quick dry top coat. I'm not positive though. It did dry really quick and with a lot of shine. I recommend using it with any of the colors from this set. It really does intensify the color and makes the shimmer more noticeable. The wear on these was fine for me. The application was ok. The polish is really thin so you need to be careful while applying so you don't flood your cuticles. It's not that bad but if you're not careful you will get flooding. I really liked wearing this color. At first I was like woah this is baaa-riiight! But after a bit I was really digging it. If you see this at your Ross I say grab it and have some fun. The colors are nice and they all have a cool shimmer to them. What do you think about neon polish?
Totally not polish related...Wow Blogger changed their UI. I was like "aw man" when I first saw it, but in about 15 seconds I changed my tune. Props to Google/Blogger for this change. I likie!

OPI DS Extravagance

OPI Designer Series. I dream of owning you all!

OPI DS Extravagance from the Designer Series Collection of Fall 2008. It's a red purple with holographic sparkles and isn't it lovely. This is one of my favorite in Designer Series. I have it for my pedi currently as well. It looks stunning in person. In the sun it seems to glow. It applies easily and you can use top coat with it. I use the DS Top coat and then some SV. No dulling.  If you don't have this one I highly recommend it. How many OPI DS do you have in your collection? Do you want to collect them all? I have 23 and I hope to some day own them all.

China Glaze Don't Be A Square

I can never get enough holographics. I mean, honestly, they're so gorgeous!

China Glaze Don't Be A Square from the Kaleidoscope collection released in Spring of 2009 is a light pink holographic beauty. This is my favorite light pink holo. This collection is perfect. It applies beautifully and I think they're all opaque at 2 coats. DBAS is for sure. They dry super fast. They're the perfect polish for a quickie mani. My wear time is just fine, though I've heard some say they chip quickly on them. I do use my treatment and orly bonder with these, so that may give me better wear time. I don't use top coat though, because these dull with it. I have the OPI DS top coat and I think  I'll try it with the next Kaleidoscope mani. I'll let you know how it goes.

OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise and OPI Simmer & Shimmer accent nail.

I love the OPI Texas Collection and the OPI Burlesque is one of my favorite all time OPI collections. Definitely top 5. Here's my notd  from these two collections.

OPI Texas Collection from Spring 2011 has some beautiful colors. Specifically the six jellies (sorbets). I love them! Austin-tatious Turquoise is a glass fleck teal color with a very subtle duochrome in pink. It's a nice color and the glass fleck finish is a favorite for me. This color on my skin tone though, isn't a good match imo. I really do better with warm colors. I have a bunch of blues/purple/greens. I don't know why I keep buying them. I did hold off with the recent Color Club Take Wing Collection for this spring and only got three of the six. I'll be showing those later. Anyway, back to this mani. I used OPI Simmer & Shimmer, from the Holiday 2010 The Burlesque Collection as the accent nail. The Burlesque Collection is freakin' awesome. I love every single color. The application is perfect on both, the colors are gorgeous and the wear is great. I will wear them in spite of the lobster hands I get ;)
On a side note: As I was doing this mani it occurred to me this looks like $OPI Who Let The Dorks out AND Nicole by OPI Lotus Iceberg. I did a comparison and they're all identical. (Why didn't I take pics?) So, I guess I can trade or sell two of these :/

Sally Hansen Strobe Light

Glitter. Holographic Glitter...

Today I wanted sparkles. So I decided to do a base of two coats Orly Liquid Vinyl and top it with one coat of Sally Hansen Strobe Light. I did two coats of Strobe Light on my ring finger as an accent. Strobe Light is silver and holographic glitter in a clear base. If I wear this again, I think I'll use Wet N Wild black creme so I only have to do one coat. By the time I was finished it ended up pretty thick. I needed two coats of Gelous and then SV quick dry coat. This look is crazy sparkly. The holographic glitter is beautiful. If you want a mani that is eye catching this is the one for you. For me, I think it might be too much for my taste. I'm more of a glitter on the accent nail girl instead of the whole mani. It's pretty though. How about you? Full glitter mani or accent nail only?

Zoya Aria

Today I decided I wanted an elegant beautiful mani. I chose Zoya Aria

Zoya Aria from the summer 2010 Sirens Collection. This is a deep pink jelly with silver (and gold?) glitter. It almost looks like a glitter sandwich without the work of layering. I enjoyed this color a lot. I got several compliments. It's just a classy looking lady like princess-y pink. Diva glam ;) Zoya is such a fantastic company. They have all kinds of promotional sales, sometimes free shipping and often BOGO. They are the bomb.com If you don't happen to have a Zoya account let me give you a little bit of wonderful news. You can use this link to Zoya and create an account. If you create an account you will get a free bottle of polish. If you add two more colors, for a total of three polishes you will also get free shipping. Free polish, free shipping. People! This is a win win situation. Also, if you use that link I'll get a few points to get some free shipping on an order as well. We all win :) So go check out Zoya if you've never been there.

China Glaze Hey Sailor and a Lady Bug

I don't do nail art often. It doesn't really even cross my mind a lot. But sometimes I get a bug for some nail art. Do you see what I did there ;)

China Glaze Hey Sailor from the Anchors Away Collection Spring 2011. This red is, simply put, amazing. I mean it's classic red at it's finest. I adore this color. I wish I had gotten the full size instead of the mini set. *sigh* Maybe there's a dupe. I'll have to research that soon. Before I use it up! For the accent nail I used Zoya Kimmy from the Summer Collection 2011, Orly Liquid Vinyl from Orly's core collection and Wet N Wild French White. All four had great formula and super application. I used two coats of Hey Sailor and Kimmy. One coat of each Liquid Vinyl and French White. To make the dots and eyes I used my dotting tools and free handed the black line down the center. I used tape to make the funky french black tip. The lady bug was super simple but looks adorable. I enjoyed doing it and ended up wearing it 4 days!!! That might be a record for me. I never wear anything that long unless I am traveling out of town since I rarely do my nails away from home. So, yea, I loved this mani :) Do you like nail art? Do you wear an accent nail color?

Sunny day today. So that means...Holographic!

China Glaze He's Going In Circles from the 2009 Kaleidoscope Collection is a sea foam green holographic. It's gorgeous. The holographic effect is stunning both in artificial and natural lighting. This is the reason I prefer the Kaleidoscope collection over the OMG collection. Scattered holographics for me, yep yep yep!

ManGlaze Lesbi-honest with Top Coat

Not surprisingly I have ManGlaze Lesbi-honest with top coat today.

I didn't even last 12 hours before I had to top coat Lesbi-honest. But look how pretty it is with top coat! It brings out a silver shimmer that's so sparkly and eye catching. I can't take my eyes off my nails! Are you able to wear matte all day or do you top coat too?

ManGlaze Lesbi-honest

This is from the company ManGlaze. Let me tell you ahead of time if you're easily offended, tread lightly. It's not for the faint of heart :)

So this is Lesbi-honest by ManGlaze. All their polish is matte. They have some beautiful colors with colorful names. Lesbi-honest is a fuchsia matte with a shimmer. It applies like butter. So smooth and easy. It could be a one coater, but I did two. I love the look of matte polish. I guess there is one thing I don't like about wearing a matte: You're not supposed to use lotion while you wear them. I use lotion and cuticle oil several times a day. I may just have to use it anyway!

OPI My Pointe Exactly

Oops! I meant to post this several days ago right after I showed it with Pirouette My Whistle. Well better late than never ;)

OPI My Pointe Exactly natural light

OPI My Pointe Exactly

Normally I have four pictures. Apparently I forgot to take the artificial light one :/ I'm on a roll here.
OPI My Pointe Exactly, from the NYC Ballet Soft Shades Collection this spring, is a grey jelly. It's the only grey jelly I have, so that was great for me. It's very sheer, so I did two thin coats with a third thick coat. I find with these sheer polishes if I use a ridge filler under it helps it become a bit more opaque. Not gonna lie, I did not like this color with my skin tone at all. Once I put Pirouette My Whistle over it I was really happy with it. But, alone. No. Hopefully the others I got from this collection will do better with my skin tone.

OPI Diva Of Geneva

Good morning! It's cold here today. Which is really weird for April. It's going to rain too, not so weird for April.

OPI Diva Of Geneva from the Swiss collection fall 2010 is gorgeous. Diva of Geneva is a purpley red  with fuchsia shimmery loveliness. It's a cool day out today so I thought a nice dark shimmer would look nice. I was right ;) I've had this one a long time and I never get tired of wearing it. Every time I wear it I do feel surprised at how pretty is it. Dunno why that is. It applies like a dream and wears like armor. I miss polish before they went Big 3 Free. It was so easy to apply. I guess I'm glad it's healthier now...maybe. Have a great day!

OPI DS Illuminate

It seems I don't wear anything but OPI lately. I have other brands, I promise. I'll wear them soon. Don't ask me what brand I'm wearing tomorrow though...

OPI DS Illuminate from the 2008 Designer Series Collection is a lovely brown holographic. It's really unique in my collection. I don't think I have anything like this. Not this brown. It's so warm and sparkly. I got it this week in a swap and I'm thrilled with it. For my accent nail I used OPI Sparkle-iscious from the Burlesque collection. Man. do I love that collection. It's one of my favorites from OPI. The glitters are TDF and the others are every one of them gorgeous. I have the whole Burlesque collection and I'm working on the Designer Series collection. I am missing a few of the early releases. Why didn't I buy them when they were released? *facepalm*

OPI DS Divine

I have another from OPI's Designer Series today.

OPI DS Divine is from the original DS collection in 2006. It's a hot pink holographic dream come true in nail polish. It applies like a dream and is opaque in 2 coats. It looks good in both natural and artificial lighting. You can't lose with this one. Thanks for looking :)

OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston

Ermagherd I lurve the OPI Texas Collection of Sorbets...

OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston is a red-orange jelly. It's from the Texas collection from Spring 2011. OPI called the jellies in this collection sorbet. I still call them Jelly though. Either way I love this collection. So pretty.GMG is super sheer, but builds ok and is opaque enough for me at 4 coats. I'm not sure this one would ever be totally opaque. I like it anyway. Some VNL doesn't bother me at all. I love jelly finishes. Squishy, shiny, beautiful. Thanks for looking!
